Chasing freight up the Koper line for the first time in 2022 — from the coast at Koper to the climbs above Hrastovlje and Podpec and the junction at Presnica.

Day 1

The first day was spent around Presnica & Crnotice, watching the mix of traction that works the Koper line — Classic 363 "Brižita" locomotives in display as well as the private slovenian operator Adria Transport

Between Hrastovlje and Presnica the line climbs steeply away from the coast — every loaded train working hard, every empty one coasting back down towards the port.

Day 2

Podpec and Hrstovlje were the main spots of the second day, in the most raw, impressive part of the climb

Day 3

Before continuing the journey in Slovenia in other lines, morning was spent at Rodik, where helper locomotives are detached without stopping the train as they reach the top of the climb from Koper
